⁷ Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat^(A) of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.

¹⁰ We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle^(A) have no right to eat.^(B)

¹¹ The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering,^(C) but the bodies are burned outside the camp.^{(D) 12} And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate^(E) to make the people holy^(F) through his own blood.^(G)

¹⁴ Furthermore, all the leaders of the priests and the people became more and more unfaithful,^(A) following all the detestable practices of the nations and defiling the temple of the Lord, which he had consecrated in Jerusalem.

The Temple’s Furnishings^(A)

4 He made a bronze altar^(B) twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high.^[a]

⁶⁴ On that same day the king consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings and the fat^(A) of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar^(B) that stood before the Lord was too small to hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings.^(C)

⁶⁵ So Solomon observed the festival^(D) at that time, and all Israel with him—a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath^(E) to the Wadi of Egypt.^(F) They celebrated it before the Lord our God for seven days and seven days more, fourteen days in all. ⁶⁶ On the following day he sent the people away. They blessed the king and then went home, joyful and glad in heart for all the good^(G) things the Lord had done for his servant David and his people Israel.

³⁷ “Tell Eleazar^(A) son of Aaron, the priest, to remove the censers^(B) from the charred remains and scatter the coals some distance away, for the censers are holy— ³⁸ the censers of the men who sinned at the cost of their lives.^(C) Hammer the censers into sheets to overlay the altar,^(D) for they were presented before the Lord and have become holy. Let them be a sign^(E) to the Israelites.”
