^16 (A)For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

^15 (A)Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

¹² Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer ^(A)and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

⁵ ‘Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there, and I chose no man as prince over my people Israel; ^6 (A)but I have chosen Jerusalem that my name may be there, ^(B)and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’

³ And the Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, ^(A)by putting my name there forever. ^(B)My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

^20 (A)that your eyes may be open day and night toward this house, the place where you have promised to set your name, that you may listen to the prayer that your servant offers toward this place.

⁹ For ^(A)in him the whole fullness of deity dwells ^(B)bodily,

¹⁹ Jesus answered them, ^(A)“Destroy this temple, and in three days ^(B)I will raise it up.” ²⁰ The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,^[a] and will you raise it up in three days?” ²¹ But he was speaking about ^(C)the temple of his body.

¹⁷ and behold, ^(A)a voice from heaven said, ^(B)“This is my beloved Son,^[a] with whom I am well pleased.”

² And the Lord said to Satan, ^(A)“The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has ^(B)chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this ^(C)a brand^[a] plucked from the fire?”
