¹⁴ if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.^(A)

⁹ Lament and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.^(A)

³⁷ then if they come to their senses in the land to which they have been taken captive and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘We have sinned and have done wrong; we have acted wickedly,’^{(A) 38} if they repent with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity, to which they were taken captive, and pray toward their land that you gave to their ancestors, the city that you have chosen, and the house that I have built for your name, ³⁹ then hear from heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their pleas, maintain their cause, and forgive your people who have sinned against you.

⁶ I am going to bring it recovery and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them abundance^[a] of prosperity and security.^(A)

²⁹ From there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul.^{(A) 30} In your distress, when all these things have happened to you in time to come, you will return to the Lord your God and heed him.

¹² While he was in distress, he entreated the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors.^{(A) 13} He prayed to him, and God received his entreaty, heard his plea, and restored him again to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord indeed was God.^(B)

²⁷ then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and grant rain on your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance.
