⁵⁰ And ^(A)he led them out as far as ^(B)Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. ⁵¹ While he blessed them, ^(C)he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

² And great crowds gathered about him, ^(A)so that he got into a boat and sat down. And the whole crowd stood on the beach.

⁵ And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people, and as he opened it all the people stood. ⁶ And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God, and all the people answered, ^(A)“Amen, Amen,” ^(B)lifting up their hands. ^(C)And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground. ^7 (D)Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites,^{[a] (E)}helped the people to understand the Law, ^(F)while the people remained in their places.

⁵⁵ And he stood and ^(A)blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying, ⁵⁶ “Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. ^(B)Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant. ⁵⁷ The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. ^(C)May he not leave us or forsake us, ⁵⁸ that he may ^(D)incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his rules, which he commanded our fathers. ⁵⁹ Let these words of mine, with which I have pleaded before the Lord, be near to the Lord our God day and night, and may he maintain the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel, as each day requires, ⁶⁰ that ^(E)all the peoples of the earth may know that ^(F)the Lord is God; there is no other. ^61 (G)Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the Lord our God, walking in his statutes and keeping his commandments, as at this day.”
