⁹ There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil:^(A) first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;^{(B) 10} but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.^(C)

²⁰ The one who sins is the one who will die.^(A) The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.^(B)

¹⁶ Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I am about to remove you from the face of the earth.^(A) This very year you are going to die,^(B) because you have preached rebellion^(C) against the Lord.’”

¹⁷ In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.^(D)
