²² “If anyone sins against his neighbor, and is forced to take an ^(A)oath, and comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this temple,

¹¹ then an ^(A)oath of the Lord shall be between them both, that he has not put his hand into his neighbor’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept that, and he shall not make it good.

¹⁸ And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’

³¹ “When anyone sins against his neighbor, and is forced to take ^(A)an oath, and comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this temple, ³² then hear in heaven, and act, and judge Your servants, ^(B)condemning the wicked, bringing his way on his head, and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.

¹⁹ And the priest shall put her under oath, and say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness while under your husband’s authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse. ²⁰ But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has lain with you”— ²¹ then the priest shall ^(A)put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman—^(B)“the Lord make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the Lord makes your thigh ^[a]rot and your belly swell; ²² and may this water that causes the curse ^(C)go into your stomach, and make your belly swell and your thigh rot.”

‘^(D)Then the woman shall say, “Amen, so be it.”

5 ‘If a person sins in ^(A)hearing the utterance of an oath, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter—if he does not tell it, he ^(B)bears ^[a]guilt.
