²² Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but ^(A)disguised himself so that he might fight with him, and did not heed the words of Necho from the mouth of God. So he came to fight in the Valley of Megiddo.

²⁹ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will ^(A)disguise myself and go into battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they went into battle.

²¹ But he sent messengers to him, saying, “What have I to do with you, king of Judah? I have not come against you this day, but against the house with which I have war; for God commanded me to make haste. Refrain from meddling with God, who is with me, lest He destroy you.”

³⁰ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel ^(A)disguised himself and went into battle.

^16 (A)And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, ^[a]Armageddon.

¹¹ In that day there shall be a great ^(A)mourning in Jerusalem, ^(B)like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of ^[a]Megiddo.

⁴ Also Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, ^(A)“Please inquire for the word of the Lord today.”

⁵ Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?”

So they said, “Go up, for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.”

⁶ But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of ^(B)Him?”^[a]

^30 (A)Then his servants moved his body in a chariot from Megiddo, brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb. And ^(B)the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, anointed him, and made him king in his father’s place.

Ahaziah of Judah Killed^(A)

²⁷ But when Ahaziah king of Judah saw this, he fled by the road to ^[a]Beth Haggan. So Jehu pursued him, and said, ^[b]“Shoot him also in the chariot.” And they shot him at the Ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. Then he fled to ^(B)Megiddo, and died there.
