³² And he made all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin take a stand. So the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.

¹⁰ And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me ^(A)with her whole heart, but in pretense,” says the Lord.

Obey Authorities for God’s Sake

² I say, “Keep the king’s commandment ^(A)for the sake of your oath to God.

¹⁶ He also repaired the altar of the Lord, sacrificed peace offerings and ^(A)thank offerings on it, and commanded Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.

¹² Also ^(A)the hand of God was on Judah to give them singleness of heart to obey the command of the king and the leaders, ^(B)at the word of the Lord.

²⁹ And when they had finished offering, ^(A)the king and all who were present with him bowed and worshiped.

⁴ He commanded Judah to ^(A)seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandment.

¹⁹ For I have known him, in order ^(A)that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
