^26 (A)Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them ^(B)in the days of Hezekiah.

^18 (A)“Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

¹⁹ Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah ever put him to death? ^(D)Did he not fear the Lord and ^(E)seek the Lord’s favor? And the Lord ^(F)relented concerning the doom which He had pronounced against them. ^(G)But we are doing great evil against ourselves.”

¹² Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and ^(A)humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

^10 (A)Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

²⁷ because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the ^(A)Lord. ²⁸ “Surely I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the calamity which I will bring on this place and its inhabitants.” ’ ” So they brought back word to the king.

⁶ ‘Behold, the days are coming ^(A)when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,’ says the Lord. ⁷ ‘And they shall take away some of your ^(B)sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”

⁸ So Hezekiah said to Isaiah, ^(C)“The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good!” For he said, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.”

²³ And he did not humble himself before the Lord, ^(A)as his father Manasseh had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

¹⁹ Also his prayer and how God received his entreaty, and all his sin and trespass, and the sites where he built ^[a]high places and set up wooden images and carved images, before he was humbled, indeed they are written among the sayings of ^[b]Hozai.

¹⁶ Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the Lord: ¹⁷ ‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, ^(A)shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,’ says the Lord. ¹⁸ ‘And ^(B)they shall take away some of your sons who will ^[a]descend from you, whom you will beget; ^(C)and they shall be ^(D)eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”

¹⁹ So Hezekiah said to Isaiah, ^(E)“The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good!” For he said, “Will there not be peace and truth at least in my days?”
