⁷ They also ^(A)shut the doors of the vestibule and put out the lamps and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the Holy Place to the God of Israel.

²⁴ And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God and ^(A)cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and he shut up the doors of the house of the Lord, and he made himself ^(B)altars in every corner of Jerusalem.

² “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly. ³ Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the Lord regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. ⁴ He shall arrange the lamps on the ^(A)lampstand of pure gold^[a] before the Lord regularly.

Bread for the Tabernacle

⁵ “You shall take fine flour and bake twelve ^(B)loaves from it; two tenths of an ephah^[b] shall be in each loaf. ⁶ And you shall set them in two piles, six in a pile, ^(C)on the table of pure gold^[c] before the Lord. ⁷ And you shall put pure frankincense on each pile, that it may go with the bread as a memorial portion as a food offering to the Lord. ^8 (D)Every Sabbath day Aaron shall arrange it before the Lord regularly; it is from the people of Israel as a covenant forever.

^10 (A)Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, ^(B)and I will not accept an offering from your hand.

Hezekiah Cleanses the Temple

³ In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he ^(A)opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them.

¹⁷ And King Ahaz cut off the frames of the stands and removed the basin from them, and he took down ^(A)the sea^[a] from off the bronze oxen that were under it and put it on a stone pedestal. ¹⁸ And the covered way for the Sabbath that had been built inside the house and the outer entrance for the king he caused to go around the house of the Lord, because of the king of Assyria.
