^5 (A)He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who ^(B)had understanding in the ^[a]visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him ^(C)prosper.

² And he went out ^[a]to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. ^(A)The Lord is with you while you are with Him. ^(B)If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but ^(C)if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

² Joash ^(A)did what was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

^13 (A)Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord ^[a]charged Moses concerning Israel. ^(B)Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.

¹⁶ And I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and ^[a]explain enigmas. ^(A)Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

Vision of the Glorious Man

10 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose ^(A)name was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, ^[a]but the appointed time was long; and he understood the message, and had understanding of the vision.

¹⁹ Then the secret was revealed to Daniel ^(A)in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

¹⁷ As for these four young men, ^(A)God gave them ^(B)knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had ^(C)understanding in all visions and dreams.

⁸ But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! Even so, God shall make you fall before the enemy; for God has ^(A)power to help and to overthrow.”
