¹⁰ And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.^[a]

⁷ Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, ^(A)not reluctantly or under compulsion, for ^(B)God loves a cheerful giver.

² for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and ^(A)their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.

⁹ Then the people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a ^(A)whole heart they had offered freely to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

⁴⁵ And ^(A)they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. ⁴⁶ And day by day, ^(B)attending the temple ^(C)together and ^(D)breaking bread in their homes, they received their food ^(E)with glad and generous hearts, ⁴⁷ praising God and ^(F)having favor with all the people. And the Lord ^(G)added to their number ^(H)day by day those who ^(I)were being saved.
