⁷ Did you not, our God, ^(A)drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of ^(B)Abraham your friend?

²³ and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, ^(A)“Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a ^(B)friend of God.

^15 (A)No longer do I call you servants,^[a] for the servant ^(B)does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for ^(C)all that I have heard from my Father ^(D)I have made known to you.

¹¹ After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus ^(A)has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”

^8 (A)You found his heart faithful before you, ^(B)and made with him the covenant to give to his offspring ^(C)the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite. ^(D)And you have kept your promise, for you are righteous.

¹¹ And Asa ^(A)cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, ^(B)for we rely on you, ^(C)and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.”

²¹ And who is like your people Israel, the one^[a] nation on earth whom God went to redeem to be his people, making for yourself a name for great and awesome things, in driving out nations before your people whom you redeemed from Egypt? ²² And you made your people Israel to be your people forever, and you, O Lord, became their God. ²³ And now, O Lord, let the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house be established forever, and do as you have spoken, ²⁴ and your name will be established and magnified forever, saying, ‘The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, is Israel's God,’ and the house of your servant David will be established before you.
