²² And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ^(A)an ambush against the men of ^(B)Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed.

^21 (A)I will summon a sword against Gog^[a] on all my mountains, declares the Lord God. ^(B)Every man's sword will be against his brother.

¹⁷ Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please ^(A)open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of ^(B)horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

²⁰ Then Saul and all the people who were with him rallied and went into the battle. And behold, ^(A)every Philistine's sword was against his fellow, and there was very great confusion.

^22 (A)When they blew the 300 trumpets, ^(B)the Lord set ^(C)every man's sword against his comrade and against all the army. And the army fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah,^[a] as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath.

¹⁰ And now behold, the men of ^(A)Ammon and Moab and ^(B)Mount Seir, whom ^(C)you would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, ^(D)and whom they avoided and did not destroy—

¹³ Jeroboam had sent ^(A)an ambush around to come upon them from behind. Thus his troops^[a] were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them.
