¹¹ Some Philistines brought Jehoshaphat gifts and silver as tribute, and the Arabs^(A) brought him flocks:^(B) seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred goats.

⁸ The Ammonites^(A) brought tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread as far as the border of Egypt, because he had become very powerful.

² David also defeated the Moabites.^(A) He made them lie down on the ground and measured them off with a length of cord. Every two lengths of them were put to death, and the third length was allowed to live. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.^(B)

⁵ The Lord established the kingdom under his control; and all Judah brought gifts^(A) to Jehoshaphat, so that he had great wealth and honor.^(B)

⁴ Now Mesha king of Moab^(A) raised sheep, and he had to pay the king of Israel a tribute of a hundred thousand lambs^(B) and the wool of a hundred thousand rams.
