¹⁰ The fear^(A) of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah, so that they did not go to war against Jehoshaphat.

¹⁴ They destroyed all the villages around Gerar, for the terror^(A) of the Lord had fallen on them. They looted all these villages, since there was much plunder there.

⁹ For the eyes^(A) of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish^(B) thing, and from now on you will be at war.^(C)”

²⁴ I will drive out nations^(A) before you and enlarge your territory,^(B) and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the Lord your God.

⁵ Then they set out, and the terror of God^(A) fell on the towns all around them so that no one pursued them.^(B)

⁹ and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear^(A) of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. ¹⁰ We have heard how the Lord dried up^(B) the water of the Red Sea^[a] for you when you came out of Egypt,^(C) and what you did to Sihon and Og,^(D) the two kings of the Amorites^(E) east of the Jordan,^(F) whom you completely destroyed.^{[b](G) 11} When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear^(H) and everyone’s courage failed^(I) because of you,^(J) for the Lord your God^(K) is God in heaven above and on the earth^(L) below.
