¹² In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet, and his disease became severe. Yet even in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but sought help from physicians.

Ahaz's Idolatry

²² In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the Lord—this same King Ahaz.

^9 (A)For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those ^(B)whose heart is blameless^[a] toward him. ^(C)You have done foolishly in this, for from now on ^(D)you will have wars.”

¹⁴ He ^(A)did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and ^(B)turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
