¹² And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

¹⁴ But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

¹⁶ And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the Lord's people.

¹⁰ Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

¹² And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

⁵ And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

⁵ They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

¹² Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

¹³ And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

²⁹ They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;

³⁸ And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.
