¹² And he put shields and spears in all the cities and made them very strong. So he held Judah and Benjamin.

⁵ He set to work resolutely and built up ^(A)all the wall that was broken down and raised towers upon it,^[a] and outside it he built another wall, and he strengthened the ^(B)Millo in the city of David. He also made weapons and shields in abundance.

¹⁴ And Uzziah prepared for all the army shields, spears, helmets, ^(A)coats of mail, bows, and stones for slinging. ¹⁵ In Jerusalem he made machines, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and great stones.
