¹⁸ When King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was taskmaster over the forced labor, the people of Israel stoned him to death. King Rehoboam hurriedly mounted his chariot to flee to Jerusalem.

¹⁴ He sent them to the Lebanon, ten thousand a month in shifts; they would be a month in the Lebanon and two months at home;^[a] Adoniram was in charge of the forced labor.^(A)

⁶ Ahishar was in charge of the palace; and Adoniram son of Abda was in charge of the forced labor.

⁵⁷ But they covered their ears, and with a loud shout all rushed together against him. ⁵⁸ Then they dragged him out of the city and began to stone him, and the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.^(A)

²¹ But they conspired against him, and by command of the king they stoned him to death in the court of the house of the Lord.^(A)
