¹¹ And now, whereas my father put a heavy yoke on you, I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with ^[a]scourges!’ ”

¹⁰ They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.

⁵ And ^[a]they were not given authority to kill them, ^(A)but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.

³ Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, ^(A)as the scorpions of the earth have power.

¹⁹ Behold, ^(A)I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

²⁹ Take My yoke upon you ^(A)and learn from Me, for I am ^[a]gentle and ^(B)lowly in heart, ^(C)and you will find rest for your souls.
