Solomon Requests Wisdom^(A)

1 Now ^(B)Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and ^(C)the Lord his God was with him and ^(D)exalted him exceedingly.

²⁵ So the Lord exalted Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and ^(A)bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

^12 (A)Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was ^(B)firmly established.

^2 (A)The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

A Covenant with Abimelech

²² And it came to pass at that time that ^(A)Abimelech and Phichol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, ^(B)“God is with you in all that you do.

^9 (A)Therefore God also ^(B)has highly exalted Him and ^(C)given Him the name which is above every name, ^10 (D)that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, ¹¹ and ^(E)that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁸ And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have ^[a]made you a name like the name of the great men who are on the earth.

⁴⁶ So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out and struck him down, and he died. Thus the ^(A)kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.

¹² So He said, ^(A)“I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a ^(B)sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

²¹ But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He ^(A)gave^[a] him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
