23 Umiyak ang mga taong-bayan habang umaalis ang hari at ang kanyang mga tauhan. Tumawid sila ng Batis ng Kidron at nagtuloy sa ilang.

24 Kasama rin nila ang paring si Zadok at lahat ng Levitang nagdadala ng Kaban ng Tipan. Ibinabâ muna nila ito hanggang makalabas ng lunsod ang mga tao. Kasama rin nila ang paring si Abiatar. 25 Tinawag ng hari si Zadok at sinabi, “Ibalik mo na sa lunsod ang Kaban ng Tipan. Kung nasisiyahan sa akin ang Diyos, ibabalik niya ako at makikita kong muli ang Kaban sa pinaglagyan nito.

23 The whole countryside wept aloud(A) as all the people passed by. The king also crossed the Kidron Valley,(B) and all the people moved on toward the wilderness.

24 Zadok(C) was there, too, and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark(D) of the covenant of God. They set down the ark of God, and Abiathar(E) offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving the city.

25 Then the king said to Zadok, “Take the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the Lord’s eyes, he will bring me back and let me see it and his dwelling place(F) again.

23 And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

24 And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.

25 And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation:
