Заключительные предостережения
13 Я прихожу к вам в третий раз. Помните, что «любое обвинение должно подтверждаться показаниями двух или трёх свидетелей»[a]. 2 Я уже предупреждал вас, когда был у вас во второй раз, и сейчас, находясь вдали, я повторяю это всем, кто согрешил прежде, да и всем остальным: в этот раз я жалеть вас не буду. 3 Вы хотите видеть доказательство того, что через меня говорит Масих? Его сила не ослабла, и Он проявляет её среди вас! 4 И хотя Масих был распят в слабости, но Он жив могуществом Всевышнего! И мы, находясь в единении с Ним, также слабы, но будем жить с Ним могуществом Всевышнего, чтобы служить вам.
5 Проверяйте себя, в вере ли вы; испытывайте себя. Неужели вы не знаете, что в вас живёт Иса Масих?[b] Если, конечно, вы выдержали это испытание. 6 А что касается нас, то, я надеюсь, вы увидите, что мы испытание выдержали. 7 Мы молимся Всевышнему о том, чтобы вы не сделали зла. Не ради того, чтобы нам выглядеть выдержавшими испытание, а ради того, чтобы вы поступали по правде, пусть даже мы и не будем казаться выдержавшими. 8 Мы не можем делать ничего вопреки истине, а только ради истины.
9 Мы даже рады быть слабыми, если вы будете действительно сильны, и мы молимся о том, чтобы вы шли к исправлению. 10 Находясь сейчас не с вами, я пишу вам для того, чтобы, когда я буду у вас, мне не пришлось бы проявлять строгость. Повелитель дал мне власть не для того, чтобы разрушать, а для того, чтобы созидать.
Заключительные приветствия
11 И в заключение, братья, хочу сказать: радуйтесь, стремитесь к исправлению, ободряйте друг друга,[c] пусть среди вас будет единство, живите в мире, и Всевышний, источник любви и мира, будет с вами.
12 Приветствуйте друг друга святым поцелуем.[d] Вас приветствует весь святой народ Всевышнего.
13 Пусть со всеми вами будет благодать Повелителя Исы Масиха, любовь Всевышнего и общение Святого Духа.

13 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13 All the saints salute you.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

13 Voici donc la troisième fois[a] que je viendrai chez vous. Comme le dit l’Ecriture, toute affaire sera réglée sur les déclarations de deux ou trois témoins[b]. 2 Je vous ai déjà prévenus lors de ma seconde visite, et maintenant que je me trouve encore loin, je le répète à ceux qui ont péché précédemment, ainsi qu’à tous les autres : quand je reviendrai, j’agirai sans ménagements 3 puisque vous voulez avoir la preuve que Christ parle par moi ; car vous n’avez pas affaire à un Christ faible : il agit avec puissance parmi vous.
4 Certes, il est mort sur la croix à cause de sa faiblesse, mais il vit par la puissance de Dieu. Nous, de même, dans notre union avec lui, nous sommes faibles, mais nous nous montrerons vivants avec lui par la puissance de Dieu dans notre façon d’agir envers vous.
5 Faites donc vous-mêmes votre propre critique, et examinez-vous, pour voir si vous vivez dans la foi. Ne reconnaissez-vous pas que Jésus-Christ est en vous[c] ? A moins, peut-être, que cet examen n’aboutisse pour vous à un échec.
6 Mais vous reconnaîtrez, je l’espère, que nous, nous avons fait nos preuves ! 7 Ce que nous demandons à Dieu, c’est que vous vous absteniez de tout mal. Car, en fait, nous ne tenons pas du tout à montrer que nous avons fait nos preuves. Tout ce que nous désirons, c’est que vous fassiez le bien, même si l’épreuve paraît devoir tourner contre nous. 8 En effet, nous n’avons aucun pouvoir contre la vérité. C’est seulement pour la vérité que nous en avons. 9 Nous sommes contents d’être faibles si vous, vous êtes réellement forts. C’est justement ce que nous demandons à Dieu dans nos prières : votre perfectionnement. 10 Voilà pourquoi je vous écris tout cela pendant que je suis encore loin, pour qu’étant présent, je n’aie pas à faire usage, avec sévérité, de l’autorité que le Seigneur m’a donnée pour construire et non pour renverser[d].

11 J’ai terminé, frères et sœurs. Soyez dans la joie. Travaillez à votre perfectionnement. Encouragez-vous mutuellement. Soyez d’accord entre vous. Vivez dans la paix. Alors le Dieu d’amour et de paix sera avec vous.
12 Saluez-vous en vous donnant le baiser fraternel. Tous ceux qui, ici, font partie du peuple saint vous saluent. 13 Que la grâce du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, l’amour de Dieu et la communion du Saint-Esprit soient avec vous tous.

Final Warnings
13 This will be my third visit to you.(A) “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”[a](B) 2 I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent:(C) On my return I will not spare(D) those who sinned earlier(E) or any of the others, 3 since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me.(F) He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. 4 For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness,(G) yet he lives by God’s power.(H) Likewise, we are weak(I) in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him(J) in our dealing with you.
5 Examine yourselves(K) to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.(L) Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you(M)—unless, of course, you fail the test? 6 And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. 7 Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong—not so that people will see that we have stood the test but so that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed. 8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. 9 We are glad whenever we are weak(N) but you are strong;(O) and our prayer is that you may be fully restored.(P) 10 This is why I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may not have to be harsh(Q) in my use of authority—the authority the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.(R)

11 Finally, brothers and sisters,(S) rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace.(T) And the God of love(U) and peace(V) will be with you.
