誇らずにいられない彼らの信仰の強さ
1 📜パウロとシラス、そしてテモテからの手紙
私たちの父である神と王であるイエス・キリストに属するテサロニケ教会のみなさんへ。
2 私はみなさんに挨拶を送る。父である神より恵みと平和がみなさんに注がれますようにと心から祈っている。
3 教会のみんな。
私たちは、あなた達についていつも神に感謝している。感謝するべき理由があるからだ！みんなの神への信頼と、お互いに対する1人1人の愛がさらに深まり、成長していることに感謝しているのだ。 4 あなた達について他の教会にもどれだけ誇らしげに伝えていることか！激しい迫害と問題に苦しんでいるにも関わらず、根気強くイエスを信じているあなた達のその姿を他の人にも伝えている。
神は何もかもを正す
5 この姿こそ神の判断が正しいことを証明している！あなた達は神の王国のために苦しんでいて、神はあなた達が神の王国にとって価値ある存在でいて欲しいと願っている。 6 神は正しいことをする。そして、あなた達を攻撃する者たちに罰を下す。 7 神は困難の中でもがいている人たちに、安心へと導く脱出の道を用意してくれる。そして、王であるイエス・キリストが彼の力強い天使たちを引き連れて天から降りてくる時、彼はその道に私たちを導いてくれるのだ。 8 同時にイエスはメラメラと燃える炎も持ってくると、神を知らない者たちや私たちの王であるイエスの最高な知らせを拒んだ者たちにその火をもって罰するのだ。 9 彼らは決して終わりのない滅びの罰を受けることとなる。王であるイエスと同じ場所にいることが許されず、彼の素晴らしさから遠く離れた場所に置かれるのだ。 10 これらは王であるイエスが戻り、選ばれし人たちと共に栄光に輝く日に起きることだ。私たちが伝えた最高な知らせを信じたあなた達のように、心からイエスに従った人たちは、一緒に声をそろえてイエスを讃える！ 11 だからこそ、私たちはそのためにみんなのことを思い浮かべながらいつも祈っているのだ。あなた達が神に選ばれ、神が用意されていた最高な人生を歩み続けられるようにと。イエスへの信仰から生まれる成果を発揮し、正しいことをする力がみなぎるようにと祈っている。 12 そしてその時、あなた達によって神の名が高く掲げられ、称賛されるのだ。また同時にイエスによってあなた達自身も称讃され、尊敬を集める者たちとなるだろう。これは私たちの神、また私たちの王であるイエス・キリストの恵みによってのみ実行されるのだ。

To the church of the Thessalonians(C) in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.(D)
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 We ought always to thank God for you,(E) brothers and sisters,[b] and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.(F) 4 Therefore, among God’s churches we boast(G) about your perseverance and faith(H) in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.(I)
5 All this is evidence(J) that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy(K) of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. 6 God is just:(L) He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you(M) 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven(N) in blazing fire(O) with his powerful angels.(P) 8 He will punish(Q) those who do not know God(R) and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.(S) 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction(T) and shut out from the presence of the Lord(U) and from the glory of his might(V) 10 on the day(W) he comes to be glorified(X) in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.(Y)
11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you,(Z) that our God may make you worthy(AA) of his calling,(AB) and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness(AC) and your every deed prompted by faith.(AD) 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you,(AE) and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.[c]

2 (A)Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s Final Judgment and Glory
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4 so that (B)we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God (C)for your patience and faith (D)in all your persecutions and [a]tribulations that you endure, 5 which is (E)manifest[b] evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, (F)for which you also suffer; 6 (G)since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with [c]tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled (H)rest with us when (I)the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 (J)These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and (K)from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, (L)to be (M)glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who [d]believe, because our testimony among you was believed.
11 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would (N)count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and (O)the work of faith with power, 12 (P)that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

苦しみには意味がある
3 愛する皆さん。私は、神にたいへん感謝しています。それは、あなたがたの信仰がめざましく成長し、互いがますます深い愛で結ばれているからです。それを思うと、神に対する感謝の思いが自然にわき上がってきます。もちろん、感謝して当然なのです。 4 激しい迫害と苦難の真っただ中にあるにもかかわらず、あなたがたが忍耐しつつ、神への完全な信仰を守っていることを、私たちは諸教会の間で大いに誇っています。 5 それは、あなたがたを神の国にふさわしい者と認める、神の裁定が正しいという証拠です。あなたがたは、この神の国のために苦しみを受けているのです。
6 あなたがたを迫害する者たちには、その報いとして、さばきが下されます。 7 そういうわけで、苦難のただ中にある、あなたがたに言っておきます。主イエス・キリストが力ある天使たちを従えて、燃え立つ炎の中に天から姿を現される時、神はあなたがたにも私たちにも、休息を与えてくださるのです。 8 その時、神に目もくれなかった者や、主イエス・キリストによる神の救いの計画を拒んだ者には、恐るべきさばきが下ります。 9 彼らは永遠の地獄で刑罰を受け、主の前から追放されて、二度と栄光に輝く主を見ることはありません。 10 再び来られた主は、その日、ご自分のものであるクリスチャンたちによって、誉れと賞賛とをお受けになります。そして、私たちが伝えた神のことばを信じ抜いたあなたがたは、主と共に生きる者となるのです。

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
