⁸ They also ^[a](A)followed the ^[b]customs of the nations whom the Lord had driven out from the sons of Israel, and in the customs ^(B)of the kings of Israel which they had ^[c]introduced.

²² And the sons of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he committed; they did not desist from them ^23 (A)until the Lord removed Israel from His sight, ^(B)just as He had spoken through all His servants the prophets. ^(C)So Israel went into exile from their own land to Assyria until this day.

²⁷ And the Lord said, “I will also remove Judah from My sight, ^(A)just as I have removed Israel. And ^(B)I will reject this city which I have chosen, Jerusalem, and the ^[a]temple of which I said, ‘My name shall be there!’”

^3 (A)It indeed came upon Judah at the ^[a]command of the Lord, to remove them from His sight ^(B)due to the sins of Manasseh, in accordance with everything that he had done,
