¹⁵ and that ^(A)from childhood you have known ^(B)the sacred writings which are able to ^(C)give you the wisdom that leads to ^(D)salvation through faith which is in ^(E)Christ Jesus. ^16 (F)All Scripture is ^[a]inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for ^[b]rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; ¹⁷ so that ^(G)the man or woman of God may be ^[c]fully capable, ^(H)equipped for every good work.

²⁰ But ^(A)know this first of all, that ^(B)no prophecy of Scripture ^[a]becomes a matter of ^[b]someone’s own interpretation, ²¹ for ^(C)no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men ^(D)moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

²⁷ Then beginning ^[a]with ^(A)Moses and ^[b]with all the ^(B)Prophets, He explained to them the things written about Himself in all the Scriptures.

⁴⁴ Now He said to them, “^(A)These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the ^(B)Law of Moses and the Prophets and ^(C)the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Testimony of the Scripture

^39 [a](A)You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is ^(B)those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

⁴ For ^(A)whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

¹¹ Now these things happened to them as an ^(A)example, and ^(B)they were written for our instruction, upon whom ^(C)the ends of the ages have come.

¹³ For this reason we also constantly ^(A)thank God that when you received the ^(B)word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it ^(C)not as the word of mere men, but as what it really is, the word of God, ^(D)which also is at work in you who believe.
