9 God saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace. He gave us this grace in Messiah Jesus before all time and ages, 10 but has now made it visible through the appearing of our savior Messiah Jesus, who abolished death and, through the gospel, shone a bright light on life and immortality.
11 I was made a herald, apostle and teacher for this gospel;

9 He has saved(A) us and called(B) us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done(C) but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed(D) through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,(E) who has destroyed death(F) and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 11 And of this gospel(G) I was appointed(H) a herald and an apostle and a teacher.(I)
