7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear,(A) but one of power,[a](B) love,(C) and sound judgment.
Not Ashamed of the Gospel
8 So don’t be ashamed(D) of the testimony about our Lord,(E) or of me his prisoner.(F) Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power(G) of God. 9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling,(H) not according to our works,(I) but according to his own purpose(J) and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
