25 (A)with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, (B)if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to (C)the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from (D)the snare of the devil, having been (E)held captive [a]by him to do his will.

25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,(A) 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil,(B) who has taken them captive to do his will.
