2 Thessalonians 3:9-11
International Standard Version
9 It is not as though we did not have that right, but we wanted[a] to give you an example to follow. 10 While we were with you, we gave this order: “If anyone doesn’t want to work, he shouldn’t eat.”
11 We hear that some of you are living in idleness.[b] You are not busy working[c]—you are busy interfering[d] in other people’s lives!

9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help,(A) but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate.(B) 10 For even when we were with you,(C) we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work(D) shall not eat.”
11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.(E)
