2 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving for Faith and Perseverance
1 Paul, Silvanus (Silas), and Timothy,
To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2 Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We ought always and indeed are morally obligated [as those in debt] to give thanks to God for you, [a]brothers and sisters, as is fitting, because your faith is growing ever greater, and the [unselfish] [b]love of each one of you toward one another is continually increasing. 4 Therefore, we speak of you with pride among the churches of God for your steadfastness [your unflinching endurance, and patience] and your firm faith in the midst of all the persecution and [crushing] distress which you endure. 5 This is a positive proof of the righteous judgment of God [a sign of His fair verdict], so that you will be considered worthy of His kingdom, for which indeed you are suffering. 6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with distress those who distress you, 7 and to give relief to you who are so distressed and to us as well when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in a flame of fire, 8 dealing out [full and complete] vengeance to those who do not [seek to] know God and to those who ignore and refuse to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus [by choosing not to respond to Him]. 9 These people will pay the penalty and endure the punishment of [c]everlasting destruction, banished from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day [that is, glorified through the changed lives of those who have accepted Him as Savior and have been set apart for His purpose], and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed and trusted [and confirmed in your lives]. 11 With this in view, we constantly pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of your calling [to faith] and with [His] power fulfill every desire for goodness, and complete [your] every work of faith, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you [by what you do], and you in Him, according to the [precious] grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

A la iglesia de los tesalonicenses(D) en Dios nuestro Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo: 2 Gracia a ustedes(E) y paz de parte de Dios el Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
Acción de gracias
3 Siempre tenemos que dar gracias a Dios por ustedes(F), hermanos(G), como es justo, porque su fe aumenta grandemente, y el amor de cada uno de[a] ustedes hacia los demás(H) abunda más y más. 4 Por lo cual nosotros mismos hablamos con orgullo(I) de ustedes entre las iglesias de Dios, por su perseverancia y fe(J) en medio de todas las[b] persecuciones y aflicciones que soportan(K). 5 Esta es una señal evidente(L) del justo juicio de Dios, para que sean considerados dignos del reino de Dios(M), por el cual en verdad están sufriendo.
Justicia de la retribución final
6 Porque después de todo[c], es justo delante(N) de[d] Dios que Él pague con aflicción a quienes los afligen a ustedes. 7 Pero que Él les dé alivio a ustedes que son afligidos, y también a nosotros[e], cuando el Señor Jesús sea revelado[f](O) desde el cielo(P) con Sus poderosos ángeles[g](Q) en llama de fuego(R), 8 dando castigo a los que no conocen a Dios(S), y a los que no obedecen al evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesús(T).
9 Estos[h] sufrirán el castigo de eterna destrucción(U), excluidos de la presencia del Señor(V) y de la gloria de Su poder, 10 cuando Él venga para ser glorificado(W) en[i] Sus santos en aquel día(X) y para ser admirado entre todos los que han creído; porque nuestro testimonio ha sido creído por ustedes(Y).
