2 Thessalonians 1:8-12
New Living Translation

8 in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. 10 When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people—praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him.

11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.[a]

8 He will punish(A) those who do not know God(B) and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.(C) 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction(D) and shut out from the presence of the Lord(E) and from the glory of his might(F) 10 on the day(G) he comes to be glorified(H) in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.(I)

11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you,(J) that our God may make you worthy(K) of his calling,(L) and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness(M) and your every deed prompted by faith.(N) 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you,(O) and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.[a]
