6 Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Syrians (A)became servants to David and brought tribute. (B)And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went. 7 And David took (C)the shields of gold that were carried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took very much bronze.

New International Version
6 He put garrisons(A) in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject(B) to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.(C)
7 David took the gold shields(D) that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 From Tebah[a] and Berothai,(E) towns that belonged to Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.
