So Adonai gave victory to David wherever he went David also took the golden shields of Hadadezer’s officers and brought them to Jerusalem.

When the Arameans of Damascus(A) came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of them. He put garrisons(B) in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject(C) to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.(D)

David took the gold shields(E) that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
