^12 (A)When your days are fulfilled and you ^(B)lie down with your fathers, ^(C)I will raise up one of your seed after you, who will come forth from ^[a]your own body, and I will establish his kingdom. ^13 (D)He shall build a house for My name, and ^(E)I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ^14 (F)I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; ^(G)when he commits iniquity, I will reprove him with the rod of men and the strikes from the sons of men, ¹⁵ but My lovingkindness shall not be removed from him, ^(H)as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. ^16 (I)And your house and your kingdom shall ^[b]endure before ^[c]Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’” ¹⁷ According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

¹³ However, ^(A)I will not tear away all the kingdom, but ^(B)I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and ^(C)for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen.”

³⁶ But ^(A)to his son I will give one tribe, ^(B)that My servant David may have a lamp always before Me in Jerusalem, ^(C)the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.
