⁵ Now David and all the house of Israel ^(A)were celebrating before Yahweh ^(B)with all kinds of instruments made of ^[a]fir wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

⁸ Now David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their strength, ^(A)even with songs and with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and with trumpets.

¹⁶ Then David said to the chiefs of the Levites ^(A)to appoint their relatives the singers, with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, to raise a sound of gladness.

¹⁰ So the builders ^(A)laid the foundation of the temple of Yahweh. Then ^[a]the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Yahweh ^(B)according to the ^[b]directions of King David of Israel.

Dedication of the Wall

²⁷ Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites from all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem so that they might celebrate the dedication with gladness, with hymns of thanksgiving and with songs ^(A)to the accompaniment of cymbals, harps and lyres.
