38 Then the king said to his soldiers, “Don’t you realize that a prince and a great man has fallen in Israel today? 39 So today I am vulnerable, even though anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too hard for me to handle. May Adonai reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.”

38 Then the king said to his men, “Do you not realize that a commander and a great man has fallen(A) in Israel this day? 39 And today, though I am the anointed king, I am weak, and these sons of Zeruiah(B) are too strong(C) for me.(D) May the Lord repay(E) the evildoer according to his evil deeds!”
