23 Everything, O king, Araunah gives to the king.” And Araunah said to the king, “May Yahweh your God (A)accept you.” 24 However, the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price, for (B)I will not offer burnt offerings to Yahweh my God [a]which cost me nothing.” So (C)David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty [b]shekels of silver. 25 Then David built there an altar to Yahweh and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. (D)Thus Yahweh was moved by the entreaty for the land, and the plague was checked from being upon Israel.

24 But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”(B)

So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels[b](C) of silver for them. 25 David built an altar(D) to the Lord there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the Lord answered his prayer(E) in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.
