40 For You have encircled me with strength for battle;
You have forced (A)those who rose up against me to bow down under me.
41 You have also (B)made my enemies turn their backs to me,
And I [a]destroyed those who hated me.
42 (C)They looked, but there was no one to save them;
(D)Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.
