2 So David went there with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelite and Abigail, the widow of Nabal the Carmelite.(A) 3 In addition, David brought the men who were with him, each one with his household, and they settled in the towns near Hebron.(B) 4 Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah.(C) They told David: “It was the men of Jabesh-gilead who buried Saul.”(D)

2 So David went up there with his two wives,(A) Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail,(B) the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 3 David also took the men who were with him,(C) each with his family, and they settled in Hebron(D) and its towns. 4 Then the men of Judah came to Hebron,(E) and there they anointed(F) David king over the tribe of Judah.
