43 But the men of Israel answered the men of Judah and said, “[a](A)We have ten parts in the king, therefore [b]we also have more claim on David than you. Why then did you treat us with contempt? Was it not [c]our word first to have [d]our king return?” Yet the words of the men of Judah were harsher than the words of the men of Israel.

Israel Rebels Against Judah
16 Then all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them. So the people responded to the king with this word, saying,
“What portion do we have in David?
We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse;
(A)To your tents, O Israel!
Now see to your own house, David!”
So Israel went to their tents.
