44 The king said moreover to Shimei, “You know, as your heart acknowledges, (A)all the wickedness that you did to my father David; therefore the Lord will (B)return your wickedness on your own head. 45 But King Solomon shall be blessed, and (C)the throne of David shall be established before the Lord forever.”

46 So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out and struck him down, and he died. Thus the (D)kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.

44 The king also said to Shimei, “You know in your heart all the wrong(A) you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing. 45 But King Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will remain secure(B) before the Lord forever.”

46 Then the king gave the order to Benaiah(C) son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei(D) down and he died.

The kingdom was now established(E) in Solomon’s hands.
