¹⁸ Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and ^(A)set up for himself a pillar which is in ^(B)the King’s Valley, for he had said, “^(C)I have no son ^[a]to preserve my name.” So he named the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom’s Monument to this day.

¹⁴ And they buried him in his own tomb which he had ^[a]cut out for himself in the city of David, and they laid him in the resting place which he had filled ^(A)with spices of various kinds blended by the perfumers’ art; and ^(B)they made a very great fire for him.

⁶⁰ and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled ^(A)a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away.
