14 And the king, and all the people who were with him, arrived weary at the Jordan;[a] and there he refreshed himself.

15 Now Ab′salom and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahith′ophel with him. 16 And when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, came to Ab′salom, Hushai said to Ab′salom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”

New International Version
14 The king and all the people with him arrived at their destination exhausted.(A) And there he refreshed himself.
The Advice of Ahithophel and Hushai
15 Meanwhile, Absalom(B) and all the men of Israel came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel(C) was with him. 16 Then Hushai(D) the Arkite, David’s confidant, went to Absalom and said to him, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
