So David sent servants and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not (A)Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of (B)Uriah the Hittite?” Then David sent messengers and [a]had her brought, and when she came to him, (C)he slept with her; (D)and when she had purified herself from her uncleanness, she returned to her house.
