¹⁶ David said to him, “^(A)Your blood is on your head, for ^(B)your mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’”

^33 (A)So shall their blood return on the head of Joab and on the head of his ^[a]descendants forever; but to David and his ^[b]descendants and his house and his throne, may there be peace from the Lord forever.”

¹³ he ^(A)lends money on interest and takes increase; will he live? He will not live! He has committed all these abominations, he will surely be put to death; his ^(B)blood will be ^[a]on his own head.

⁴ then he who hears the sound of the trumpet and ^(A)does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his ^(B)blood will be on his own head.

⁶ But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is ^(A)taken away ^[a]in his iniquity; but his ^(B)blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.’

⁸ When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will ^(A)surely die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand.

²⁵ And all the people said, “^(A)His blood shall be on us and on our children!”

²⁶ Therefore, I ^[a]testify to you this day that ^(A)I am ^[b]innocent of the blood of all men.
