¹⁴And David said to him, “How is it you were not afraid ^(A)to reach out with your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?”

¹⁴David asked him, “Why weren’t you afraid to lift your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?^(A)”

²¹But Abishai the son of Zeruiah responded, “^(A)Should Shimei not be put to death for this, ^(B)the fact that he cursed the Lord’s anointed?”

²¹Then Abishai^(A) son of Zeruiah said, “Shouldn’t Shimei be put to death for this? He cursed^(B) the Lord’s anointed.”^(C)
