¹⁴ The Lord thundered^(A) from heaven;
    the voice of the Most High resounded.

³ The voice^(A) of the Lord is over the waters;
    the God of glory^(B) thunders,^(C)
    the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.^(D)
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;^(E)
    the voice of the Lord is majestic.
⁵ The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
    the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.^(F)
6 He makes Lebanon leap^(G) like a calf,
    Sirion^[a](H) like a young wild ox.^(I)
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
    with flashes of lightning.^(J)
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
    the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.^(K)
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks^[b](L)
    and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”^(M)

² Listen!^(A) Listen to the roar of his voice,^(B)
    to the rumbling that comes from his mouth.^(C)
3 He unleashes his lightning^(D) beneath the whole heaven
    and sends it to the ends of the earth.^(E)
4 After that comes the sound of his roar;
    he thunders^(F) with his majestic voice.^(G)
When his voice resounds,
    he holds nothing back.
⁵ God’s voice thunders^(H) in marvelous ways;^(I)
    he does great things beyond our understanding.^(J)

¹⁰     those who oppose the Lord will be broken.^(A)
The Most High will thunder^(B) from heaven;
    the Lord will judge^(C) the ends of the earth.

“He will give strength^(D) to his king
    and exalt the horn^(E) of his anointed.”
