3 The sons of (B)Judah were Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by the daughter of (C)Shua, the Canaanitess. (D)Er, the firstborn of Judah, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; so He killed him. 4 And (E)Tamar, his daughter-in-law, (F)bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.
5 The sons of (G)Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 6 The sons of Zerah were [a]Zimri, (H)Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and [b]Dara—five of them in all.
7 The son of (I)Carmi was [c]Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the (J)accursed[d] thing.
8 The son of Ethan was Azariah.
9 Also the sons of Hezron who were born to him were Jerahmeel, [e]Ram, and [f]Chelubai. 10 Ram (K)begot Amminadab, and Amminadab begot Nahshon, (L)leader of the children of Judah; 11 Nahshon begot [g]Salma, and Salma begot Boaz; 12 Boaz begot Obed, and Obed begot Jesse; 13 (M)Jesse begot Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, [h]Shimea the third, 14 Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, 15 Ozem the sixth, and David the (N)seventh.
16 Now their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. (O)And the sons of Zeruiah were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel—three. 17 Abigail bore Amasa; and the father of Amasa was [i]Jether the Ishmaelite.

To Hezron’s Sons
3 The sons of Judah:(B)
Er, Onan and Shelah.(C) These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua.(D) Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.(E) 4 Judah’s daughter-in-law(F) Tamar(G) bore Perez(H) and Zerah to Judah. He had five sons in all.
5 The sons of Perez:(I)
Hezron(J) and Hamul.
6 The sons of Zerah:
Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol and Darda[a]—five in all.
7 The son of Karmi:
Achar,[b](K) who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.[c](L)
8 The son of Ethan:
Azariah.
9 The sons born to Hezron(M) were:
Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.[d]

10 Ram(N) was the father of
Amminadab(O), and Amminadab the father of Nahshon,(P) the leader of the people of Judah. 11 Nahshon was the father of Salmon,[e] Salmon the father of Boaz, 12 Boaz(Q) the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse.(R)
13 Jesse(S) was the father of
Eliab(T) his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea, 14 the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai, 15 the sixth Ozem and the seventh David. 16 Their sisters were Zeruiah(U) and Abigail. Zeruiah’s(V) three sons were Abishai, Joab(W) and Asahel. 17 Abigail was the mother of Amasa,(X) whose father was Jether the Ishmaelite.
